It seems as though hatred is spewing everywhere. Negative words and actions go back and forth and all around (2 Tim. 3:1-3). It's hard to not get negative and perhaps speak or act out nastily with all of the undesirable things going on, but don't fall into the trap (2 Tim 2:23-26). We know its a trap, because Jesus taught us a different way.
It's important for Christians to continue to follow what Jesus taught us..to love our neighbor, including our enemies; pray for God's Kingdom, the only permanent solution to mankind's problems; and to remember that vengeance is reserved for Jehovah (Matt 22:39; Matt 5:44; Matt 6:10; Romans 12:19). We need to keep praying that the holy spirit works within us to display, not hatred, anger, and revenge, but rather, the fruitage of the spirit (Gal. 5:22,23)*. Jesus reminds us to be peaceable to all men (Romans 12:18).
It's hard (yes it is!), and the road ahead may get rough, but at the end of that road is the gift of everlasting life with a close relationship with our Father (the Creator of the universe!) forever (Matt. 7:13, 14; John 3:36). The gift is so valuable...and Jesus gave his life for it (John 3:16).
Remember, we are in what the Bible calls "The Last Days" and most people are not going to listen to what Jesus says (Matt 24:37-39). However, the direction we get from our perfect king is what separates us from the world, and it is a test of our true faith.
*Fruitage of the spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23): love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control.
